How to Reach Us

Our property is located in Poggioferro, a hillside hamlet of Scansano, in the province of Grosseto (Tuscany).
You can easily reach us by car, train, plane, or ferry.

🚗 By Car

From Grosseto (about 33 km / 35 minutes)

• Leave Grosseto following the signs for Scansano (SP159 “Scansanese”).

• After about 26 km, before entering Scansano, turn toward Poggioferro on the SP160.

• Continue for about 6 km until you see the sign for Poggioferro.

• Right after the sign, Via della Chiesa is the first road on the right, leading to the main church.

From Rome (about 2h30 / 180 km)

• Take the A12 Rome–Civitavecchia highway, then the SS1 Aurelia towards Grosseto.

• After about 100 km, turn right onto Strada Provinciale Valmarina.

• Continue along SP di Capalbio, then SP Aquilaia, and SP159 until you reach SP160 towards Poggioferro.

From Florence (about 2h45 / 170 km)

• Take the Florence–Siena expressway to Siena Sud.

• Follow SS223 (E78) towards Grosseto.

• Exit at Roselle.

• Continue on SP159, then take SP160 towards Poggioferro.

🚆 By Train

The nearest train station is Grosseto (main line Rome–Pisa).
From there, you can:

• Take an Autolinee Toscane bus to Scansano, then the 8/G line to Poggioferro, or

• Rent a car directly at the station (several car rental companies are available).

Approximate travel times by train:

• From Rome or Pisa → Grosseto: about 1h45–2h

• From Florence → Grosseto: about 2h30–3h

• From Grosseto → Poggioferro: about 35–45 minutes by car / 1h30 by public transport

 

✈️ By Plane

The nearest airports are:

• Rome Fiumicino (FCO) – 160 km

• Pisa Galileo Galilei (PSA) – 170 km

• Florence Peretola (FLR) – 175 km

From each airport, you can:

• Rent a car and follow the directions above, or

• Take a train to Grosseto, then continue by bus to Poggioferro.

 

⛴️ By Ferry

The most convenient ports are:

• ⚓ Civitavecchia – 120 km (ideal for arrivals from Sardinia or Sicily)

• ⚓ Livorno – 170 km (connections with Corsica and Sardinia)

• ⚓ Piombino – 115 km (connections with Elba Island, Corsica, and Sardinia)

From each port, you can rent a car and follow the driving directions above.
